I walked into a gallery where someone was demonstrating Paverpol, so I joined in, sat down and made a piece.  I was hooked!  Paverpol is a new environmentally friendly, water based sticky goop. With a special powder added,  it withstands any weather and is almost unbreakable.  (I often make clay faces which can be vulnerable.) Once I've constructed the basic  figure, I wrap it with strips of any natural fabric soaked in Paverpol and wind them around the figure.  (Old cotton t-shirts are ideal.)  The paverpol hardens the fabric.  The figure dries overnight enough to paint.  I like to paint faux "stone"or "metal" or dripping verdigris to make them look  more like natural stone.   If you like messy, you'll love doing this!
